VAN TEESELING LAB

Studying bacterial cell biology as an adaptive trait.

We are a young international and interdisciplinary lab based in Jena, Germany. Using molecular biology, microscopy & quantitative image analysis, we study multiple bacterial model systems. Our aim is to understand how these bacteria shape their cells to be able to make a living as part of multispecies communities.

RESEARCH

We are passionately studying the following themes:

THE MOLECULAR MECHANISMS UNDERLYING BACTERIAL CELL BIOLOGY.

THE MOLECULAR MECHANISMS BACTERIA USE TO MODIFY THEIR CELL BIOLOGY BASED ON COMMUNITY INTERACTIONS.
