OUR TEAM

MURIEL C.F. VAN TEESELING
Group Leader
Dr. Muriel van Teeseling was trained as an ecological microbiologist and microbial cell biologist in Nijmegen, Umeå and Marburg. She spends her days happily supervising, writing and thinking about bacterial cell biology.

TOM HAUFSCHILD
MSc student (Honours)
Tom joined the lab in March 2021 as joint student with the Jogler lab. He tries to find out how cells reel in nutrients with voracious curiosity, serious microscopy and image analysis skills.

CARMEN E. WURZBACHER
MSc student (Honours)
Carmen joined the lab in June 2021. She is on top of 17 environmental strains, all with an exceptional cell biology using her many talents, including newly acquired coding and Russian skills.

IMESHA RATHNAYAKA MUDIYANSELAGE
MSc student
Imesha joined the lab in July 2021, first as a student assistant and from Oct 2021 onwards as a MSc student. She zooms in to bacterial growth phases and chromosome dynamics with a talent for efficient image analysis.

MYRIEL STAACK
MSc student
Myriel joined the lab in Oct 2021 as a joint student with the Jogler lab. She is on top of cell biological changes that Alphaproteobacteria undergo when growing together with other organisms, combining an impressive speed of picking new things up with thorough experimentation skills.

ENES DEMIRAY
Student assistant
Enes has joined the lab in Nov 2021. He studies cell shape of plant-associated Proteobacteria with an eye both for detail and the bigger picture.
